New Delhi: Sony has announced new range of smartphones— the Xperia X, Xperia XA and X Performance– at the Mobile World Congress, 2016 in Barcelona. The company also introduced three new devices- Xperia Ear, Xperia Eye and Xperia Projector.
The specifications of the Xperia X haven't been disclosed yet, but the company claims that the new devices come with a better Xperia camera and battery, which will supposedly give two days of battery life. The Xperia X and XA come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. The smartphones are said to have an improved design based on Sony's iconic OmniBalance design language. The smartphone will be available in white, graphite black, lime gold and rose gold colour variants. The company has said that it will start rolling out the devices in summer this year. There is no information about the pricing and availability in India.
The Xperia X Performance has Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. There are some common features in the Xperia X smartphones that include 5-inch full HD displays, 23-megapixel rear camera with Sony's Predictive Hybrid Autofocus and a 13-megapixel front facing camera.
Sony has also announced three new accessories - The Xperia Ear, which is a smart Bluetooth headset that can take voice commands, the Xperia Eye is a wearable camera with voice and face recognition. The Xperia Ear is scheduled to launch in summer. The headset will provide information about the content in the text messages, take/reject calls, respond to text messages and even notifications about weather and news. The company says that the headset will allow users to comfortably wear for full day with its soft silicon.
The Sony Xperia Eye is a wearable camera with face recognition and wide-angle lens. More details about the Xperia Eye are yet to come. The Xperia Projector will allow users to beam the content on your smartphone or tablet on a wall or table, and even understands gestures for tasks.
