Hatchbacks in India have always been a preferred choice for most of the buyers and these days, the craving for such cars has increased with new vehicles launching every now and then.

We can see the success of Renault Kwid in the market, which has forced many companies to look forward and revamp their strategies in the small hatch segment.

The recent Kwid got so much appreciation by the customers which in turn resulted in the increased waiting period and gearing up production to meet the demands.

Other manufacturers are also toiling in this field to turn the tables to their side.

We have prepared a list of some upcoming hatchbacks which are eagerly awaited and might shake things up in the respective segment.

Tata Zica

Tata's new offering Zica is all prepared to launch in the mid-February 2016 and booking for the same might start during the Indian Auto Expo.

Tata Zica is coming as a successor to Indica model which has now become an ageing car for the company.

The new Zica is based on the same XO platform and receives many advanced features.

From the front, the car flaunts smoked headlamps, aggressive radiator grille with an attractive rear profile.

Advanced features included in the vehicle are Bluetooth connectivity, ABS, 8-speakers Harman stereo system and AUX.

Mechanically, Tata Zica will be powered by 1.2 litre Revotron mill that can generate power output of 83bhp and peak torque of 114Nm while on the other hand, the diesel variant works on 1.05-litre Revotorq engine that can produce 69 bhp and maximum torque of 114Nm.

Honda Brio facelift

Another hatchback coming up is the Honda Brio facelift. The present model has become outdated and the declining sales is the proof of it.

The new Honda Brio will get refreshed aesthetic updates and attractive cabin with a host of advanced features this time.

The mechanical specifications will remain the same as seen in current Brio.

The engine that will power the car is the diesel motor that can generate output of 100 PS.

Maruti Baleno Boosterjet

Maruti, the largest homegrown car manufacturing brand is also coming with the new BoosterJet model of Baleno.

The new BoosterJet version is currently under production in India and being exported to the overseas markets, but is yet to be revealed in the country.

The car will be powered by the 1-litre petrol BoosterJet that can generate power of 110 bhp and maximum torque of 170 Nm.

Mahindra KUV100

The new Mahindra KUV100 whose launch is just around the corner, is about to enter a new domain of bulky hatchbacks or microSUV.

The car will make its debut on 15th of January 2016, bookings of which have already started.

From the outside, the car will carry new and fresh design that will catch the eyes at the first glance.

On the front, it will receive toothy signature radiator grille with black honeycomb mesh and rides on the 14-inch alloy wheels.

Coming to interiors, new KUV100 will get integrated music system, USB and AUX connectivity and many such features.

Under the hood, the car will incorporate 1.2-litre dual VVT mill that can generate power output of 82 bhp and maximum torque of 114Nm, while another engine is 1.2-litre diesel that can produce 77 bhp and maximum torque of 190Nm.

Datsun Redi-Go

Datsun hasn't seen good times in the Indian market so far, so now it is planning something different to please the masses.

After seeing overwhelming response of Kwid, the carmaker will be launching a new entry-level hatch Redi-Go.

The new vehicle will be based on Renault-Nissan's CMF platform, which also underpins the Kwid. The powertrain will also be the same as currently working in Kwid.
