Micromax's Yu Yuphoria launched at Rs 6999: 5-inch display, metal body
Micromax has launched Yu Yureka's successor, Yu Yuphoria, in India today.Here are the updates from the launch event:
The phone has a 5-inch display @ 1280x720, Gorilla Glass 3, better sunlight legibility
The frame has undergone metal bending, stamping, sandblasting, polishing and anti-finger coating, all learned from the automobile industry.
The device promises better grip and a flagship feel
The Yuphoria has all metal body. It is 8.25mm and weighs 143g. The phone will be available in two colours; Buffed Steel with black, and Champagne Gold with white.
The phone Volume rocker is on the sides and has power button in the middle. Saturn rings around the rear camera.
The phone is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 401 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A53 processor
It is 4G LTE phone compatible with 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB internal storage
It has centrally-aligned 8MP rear cam, f/2.2 with 1.4 micron size.
Also has 5MP f/2.0 front camera with an 86-degree lens in the Yuphoria.
It runs Android Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12. It comes with an app themer that allows users to customise the look and feel of the device. Also expect a truecaller integrated dialler.
App themer lets you change the look of any stock android apps with a simple press of a button.
The phone is fueled by a 2230mAh battery, that charges to 65% in 45 mins.
The phone is priced at Rs 6,999.
Yu Fit band also launched at Rs 999. The band will run in tandem with the Yu app. Micromax had invested in the Bangalore-based HealthifyMe app recently. The band will be available free to the first 1,000 customers.
YU Health device has been priced at Rs 4,999 and will be available from June.
