New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz will soon launch the much-awaited CLA-Class to take on the likes of Audi A3 sedan.
The regular variant of the CLA Class comes after the company launched the performance oriented CLA 45 AMG.
The CLA-Class might be powered by the same engines that currently work on the GLA-Class SUV, which is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel.
While the petrol model churns 181bhp and 300Nm, the diesel unit produces 136bhp and 300Nm. Both the engines will come mated to a 7G-DCT automatic transmission.
The CLA-Class will come with Mercedes' MFA (Modular Front-wheel drive Architecture) platform, on which the A-Class, B-Class, GLA-Class and CLA45 AMG are also based.
The car is expected to cost Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it the most affordable sedan from Mercedes-Benz in India.
