Gurgaon, Oct 2: Maruti Suzuki India will resume full scale production from the Manesar plant on Monday, as the 33-day long standoff with workers ended on Saturday following talks mediated by the Haryana government.
“Normal production will begin on Monday when workers will resume their duties,” a senior company official told PTI.
He said the Manesar plant did not function on Saturday and workers will work on some other holiday to make up for it.
The over-a-month long standoff between the management and workers of the Manesar plant ended early on Saturday following talks.
As per the agreement, workers agreed to sign the contentious good conduct bond laid down by the management, while the company agreed to conditionally take back 18 trainees who were suspended.
However, 44 regular employees, against whom disciplinary action was taken, have been kept under suspension.
In order to work out an amicable solution, the management agreed to bring 10 dismissed workers to the suspended list.
The fate of 44 workers would depend on the outcome of inquiry that would be initiated soon.
The workers stand to lose their salary for the period of the standoff as they agreed to ‘no work, no pay' clause in the agreement. PTI
