New Delhi, Dec 14: Xolo series from Lava, which started with the Intel processor based Lava 900, has got two new phones - Xolo 700 and Xolo 800. While Xolo 700 is already available for Rs 9,000, Lava has now made available the Xolo 800 for Rs 11,999.
The dual SIM based Xolo 800 runs on a dual core 1GHz MediaTek chip and has Android 4.0. It comes with a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 Pixels) IPS display, which is one the highest resolution in this category and matches well with some of the very expensive handsets.
The phone also features an 8 megapixel camera with backside illuminated (BSI) sensor and has features like auto focus and touch focus. The phone also boasts a front facing VGA camera.
The Xolo 800 comes with 4 GB of Internal storage and 512 MB of RAM (we would have loved it if it was 1GB instead). Lava is also offering an 8 GB card for free with this phone. The Lava Xolo 800 has Ambient Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS as well.
Sunil Raina, business head for Xolo, said, "In our tests we have benchmarked the phone against some of the best phones MNCs have on offer and in terms of camera and display quality, we have found that we are close to the very best."
Sunil Raina further added, "We are not competing with local brands, we see MNCs as our competition."
When The Mobile Indian asked him about the service support, he replied, "We have tied up with FedEX to pick up the faulty devices from customers' door step and deliver it back after repair, so there is no running around for repairs. Moreover, we have a call centre to care of all the software related issues that can be sorted over the phone so that problems are rectified within minutes and not in days."
Lava Xolo 800 will face tough competition from Karbonn A21 and Micromax Canvas II, both of which are priced below Rs 9,999 and have similar features.
