New Delhi: Lava has launched a new voice-calling tablet called the QPAD R704, at Rs 8,499.

The Lava QPAD R704 tablet features a 7-inch (1024x600 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 1GB of RAM. The tablet is the successor to the QPAD e704, launched back in April.

The tablet comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

The tablet runs the dated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box; though the company notes that the tablet is upgradeable to Android 4.4 KitKat - no timeline for the update has been provided however. The device supports voice calling feature.

On the imaging front, the device sports a 2-megapixel autofocus rear camera and there is also a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The company says the Lava QPAD R704 tablet supports Qualcomm Quick Charge technology that offers 30 percent faster charging on the device.

Other features on the tablet include FM radio, Bluetooth tethering, USB tethering, call recording feature and USB OTG (on-the-go).

The device is fueled by a 3500mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 300 hours of standby time and 10 hours talk time. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPS, and Micro-USB.
