New Delhi: HTC has launched its latest phablet, the One Max (16GB variant), in India at Rs 61,490. The handset's MOP (Best Buy) price is Rs 56,490.

However, Indian telecom retail chain, The Mobile Store is offering the new HTC phablet (16GB) for Rs 53,909 on its official website.

Unveiled back in October, the One max is built using the same aluminum design with chamfered edges along with a removable back panel. The phablet comes with a iPhone 5s-like fingerprint scanner, which can be used to unlock the device as well as launch certain apps. The square-shaped bio-metric sensor is found on its back cover, just below the camera module. It is the third device after the Motorola Atrix and Apple iPhone 5s to feature a fingerprint scanner.

It measures 164.5x82.5x10.29mm and weighs 217 grams. The HTC One max flaunts a huge 5.9-inch Super LCD 3 full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display and runs runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box with HTC's Sense 5.5 UI on top.

Under the hood, the One Max is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB inbuilt storage with support for up to 64GB of additional external storage via microSD card. The device features HTC's trademark 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound features, first seen on the HTC One.

Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, DLNA and HTC Connect. The device also packs a 3300mAh battery which can give up to 25 hours of talktime and 585 hours of standby time for 3G networks.

Other features include 65GB of Google Drive space, BoomSound stereo speakers but without Beats Audio and a 3,300mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 25 hours of talktime and up to 585 hours on standby mode.

The device competes against the likes of ultra-premium phablets like Samsung's Galaxy Note 3, which is slightly smaller in size but has received raving reviews for its performance, design and features.
