New Delhi: Micromax is working on their first LTE smartphone that would be powered by NVDIA's Tegra 4i processor, according to a Twitter user @LeaksterInc.
A render of an alleged LTE-enabled Micromax smartphone leaked hinted at an earlier release of the device. The leak resembled the Wiko Wax smartphone from the French manufacturer Wiko.
Micromax was the first Indian OEM to launch Tegra 2-powered smartphone, Micromax A85 back in 2011, but it did not tie-up with NVIDIA after that. Earlier, its domestic rival, Xolo launched its first LTE smartphone, the Xolo LT900, few months back. The upcoming Micromax 4G handset would compete with Xolo. NVIDIA already released a reference phone code-named Phoenix.
The smartphone is rumoured to carry a similar configuration like the Wiko Wax: a 4.7-inch HD display, 1.7 quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4i chip and 60 Core NVIDIA ULP GeForce GPU. It is likely to come with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage with microSD expansion slot and a 2000 mAh battery.
However, there is no word on the name of the smartphone and the exact date of its launch.
