New Delhi: Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1 is the first Firefox smartphone launched in India, priced at Rs 2,299
Spice today became the first Indian smartphone vendor to launch a Firefox OS smartphone in the country. The company has launched Fire One Mi-FX 1 smartphone, which will retail for just Rs 2,299. The device is aimed at feature phone users who want to switch to smartphones.
The Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1 comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA display and is powered by a 1GHz processor. It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
“With the ultra-low cost Spice Fire One, we at Spice, aim to convert the feature phone users into smartphone users, thereby, aiding them with the power of internet,” Prashant Bindal, chief executive officer, Spice Mobility said.
“Just one year after the first Firefox OS device launched, Firefox OS smartphone is now available in 17 countries across Europe, Asia and Latin America. Our partnership with Spice will be an exciting Firefox OS launch in India,” Dr. Li Gong, President of Mozilla Corporation, said.
Connectivity options on the device include dual-SIM card support, 2G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The device comes pre-loaded with apps like Facebook and Twitter, and also features a Marketplace where users will be able to find new apps. The Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1 will be exclusively available on Snapdeal at the beginning, with other retail stores to follow soon after.
