News Delhi: Chinese handset maker Oppo has quietly released its much-awaited N1 Mini smartphone in India, priced at Rs 26,990. The smartphone was first announced at an event in China, alongside Oppo R3. It will be available on stores from Monday in its Light Blue and White colour variants, while the Yellow variant will be made available in September.

The N1 mini is a stripped down version of Oppo N1 but contains the iconic rotating camera. It comes with a 5 inch display (720x1280 pixels) made by JDI and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor alongside Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

The N1 Mini is a single-SIM smartphone that runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the company's custom skin, ColorOS 1.4, on top of it.

The highlight of the device is its rotating 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 sensor camera with LED flash. According to Oppo, the N1 Mini is able to shoot photos up to 24-megapixel in size when shooting in Ultra-HD mode. The camera can rotate 206-degree, thus eliminating the need for a secondary camera and providing full HD-quality video chat option for users.

Significant camera features include autofocus, dual-LED flash, rotating lens, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and long exposure (up to 8s).

The only downside of this new device is its limited 16GB internal storage with no microSD slot to support for future expansion. Given that you'll be taking lots of photos, you have to turn to cloud storage.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G LTE and 3G.

The device is backed by a 2140mAh battery, and is 9.2mm thick with a weight of 150 grams. It comes in White, Blue and Yellow colour options. The Oppo N1 Mini measures 148.4x72.2x9.2mm and weighs 150 grams. It comes in White, Blue and Yellow colour options.

In June, Oppo launched the Find 7 in India, calling it the country's first smartphone to boast of a Quad-HD (QHD) display.
