New Delhi: MTS has launched its Blaze 5.0 smartphone in India at Rs 10,999 that comes bundled with 100,000MB (100GB) of Internet data for one year on a single recharge of Rs. 198.
The device will be launched in nine circles – Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, UP West, West Bengal & Kolkata with a price tag of Rs. 10,999 along with a MTS SIM card.
The Blaze 5.0 offers dual SIM support (CDMA+GSM) and runs on outdated version of Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
It has a 5-inch screen and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, coupled to 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone's inbuilt storage capacity has not been mentioned however, according to MTS, Blaze 5.0 can support up to 32GB of external storage via microSD card.
At the back the Blaze 5.0 houses an 8MP camera, and while photos suggest there is a front-facing shooter, its resolution is not known.
The device gets its juice from a 2500mAh battery, and is rated to offer up to 9.5 hours of talk time. The handset offers some exclusive apps made by MTS. The MTS Playground music app lets users download and listen to songs. Also, the MTS TV app lets users stream over 100 TV channels on the smartphone. MTS Wizard allows people to activate their smartphone, pay bills and more.
The Blaze 5.0 is part of MTS' plan to grow its mobile internet arm, which saw a growth of 35.3 per cent in the quarter that ended on March 31.
