New Delhi: LG has tweeted new promo images of the recently announced G Watch, which is the company's first smartwatch based on Android Wear platform. The watch is based on Google's Android Wear smartwatch platform for wearable devices that was released last week.
LG G Watch sports a square shape and also has a plastic strap. The G Watch featured in the image shows a Hangouts notification, time, the sender's picture and a Google Now button.
LG said the G Watch would be the first smartwatch to be based on Google's Android Wear.
The specifications of the smartwatch are still unclear but a report by WSJ mentioned that G Watch will most likely pack a 1.65-inch 240x240p LCD. Earlier, Evleaks had also posted purported specifications of the LG smartwatch that included a 1.65-inch IPS LCD display(280x280p), 512MB RAM, and 4GB internal storage.
Google had said it is working with companies such as Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung; chip makers Broadcom, Imagination, Intel, Mediatek and Qualcomm; and fashion brands like the Fossil Group to offer Android Wear powered watches.
