New Delhi: At just 5.5mm thickness, Gionee Elife S5.5 smartphone currently holds the crown of the slimmest smartphone in the world. After Elife S5.5, the company is believed to be working towards breaking a record set by its own smartphone.
Dubbed Gionee GN9005 the new device is rumored to have a thickness of 5.0mm thickness, half a centimeter or 0.2-inch thickness. It measures 139.8x67.4x5mm and weigh 94.6gram.
The device will have a 4.8-inch HD display and is likely to be powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor (could be Snapdragon), 1GB RAM and 2050mAH battery.
Chinese certification agency TENAA has published a certification filing for GN9005, which is just 5mm thick.
The slim phone will come with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. It will support China Mobile network band (TD-SCDMA) and TD-LTE 4G.
