New Delhi: Ford India today reported 82.9% increase in total sales at 13,297 units in April 2014.
The company had sold a total of 7,270 units in the same month previous year, Ford India said in a statement.
Domestic sales were up 66.15% to 6,651 units in April as against 4,003 units in the same month previous year, it added.
The company exported 6,646 units last month as against 3,267 units in the year-ago period.
Commenting on the sales performance, Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Vinay Piparsania said: “Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April.”
On the outlook, he said: “In the run up to the formation of the next Government, we remain cautious and watchful in anticipation of progressive policy interventions to energize the Indian automotive sector.
