Gates attended Harvard in the fall of 1973, only to drop out two years later to found Microsoft with childhood friend Paul Allen. In 2007, more than thirty years after he left Harvard, the co-founder of Microsoft finally received an honorary degree from Harvard, the very school he ditched. “To win big, you sometimes have to take big risks,” he said once. The 2015 Forbes list has ranked him as the richest person in the world with an estimated wealth of $79.2 billion.
