New Delhi: Two years after Apple's co-founder Steve Jobs initially presented the idea of the campus to Cupertino's city council just before he died in 2011, the most realistic and detailed images yet of Apple's new spaceship headquarters have come out.

The latest images of the 2.8 million square-foot campus, nicknamed the Apple spaceship, is a 175-acre project that will feature man-made forest of more than 7,000 trees and the building itself will take almost quarter of an hour to walk around.

The ring-shaped structure will house an expansive cafeteria, an underground parking garage, and a subterranean auditorium where forthcoming Apple products will be unveiled to the media, a gym and 300,000 square feet of 'research' space

Looking as a giant saucer the Silicon Valley site near the 280 Highway will be home to 13,000 Apple employees.

Dubbed “Apple Campus 2,” the additional site will sit across from its current campus, built in 1993, and allow the iconic brand to continue expanding in Cupertino.

Earlier in 2013, the company was asked to submit its new plans with updated landscaping designed, a slightly revised floor layour, renderings, and a bicycle plan, however the overall main design wasn't changed.

The tech whiz himself had appeared before the City Council to plead in favor of the project. The campus was approved by the City of Cupertino last month, and is expected to open in 2015 or 2016.

The building was designed with the help of acclaimed British architect Norman Foster, who also drew up the planned 2 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.

The expanded campus proposal, which began seven years ago, will be a lasting tribute to Jobs, who died in October 2011.
