Panaji: Private carrier Jet Airways has started a new daily direct flight linking Goa with Abu Dhabi. The guests travelling from Goa will now be able to seamlessly connect to Abu Dhabi and to multiple international destinations in Europe, North America, Africa, Middle-East and the Gulf, the company said in a statement.

"Goa is an important tourist destination and an emerging market with one of the highest GDP per capita in the country. Guests will now be able to enjoy the advantage of direct connectivity from their hometown to Abu Dhabi and beyond," said Jet Airways General Manager (Sales) Anamoy Mitra. "With this new daily direct flight, Jet Airways will be India's first private airline to operate over 50 daily flights to multiple destinations in the Gulf.

"These include daily departures to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Sharjah, Muscat, Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh, making the airline the largest operator between India and the Gulf," he added. Jet Airways CEO Cramer Ball said: "It is a proud moment for Jet Airways as we launch our maiden international flight from Goa to Abu Dhabi. Goa is a famed tourist destination catering to international and Indian tourists alike year round." "We are confident that our approach to provide Indian cities with direct global links will prove popular with the Indians," he added.

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 115 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, eight Airbus A330-200 aircraft, four Airbus A330-300, 75 next generation Boeing 737-700/800/900/900 ER aircraft and 15 ATR 72-500 and three ATR72-600.
