New Delhi, Dec 6: The much awaited iPad Mini and the Retina display bearing 4th generation iPad has now been introduced in India. Though not officially announced by Apple itself, Saholic.com has claimed to ship these from December 8.
The iPad Mini is the smaller version of the famous iPad and comes with a smaller 7.9 inch display compared to the 9.7 of the regular iPad. While the iPad Mini is priced between Rs 21,900 to Rs 41,900, the fourth generation iPad costs between Rs 31,900 to Rs 51,900 depending on its storage capacity.
Apart from the display, the iPad Mini has similar set of hardware configuration as that of iPad 2. The tablet has a dual core A5 processor, running Apple's brand new iOS 6 operating system. The device comes in two models - 3G + WiFi and only WiFi version. The storage options are similar to that of the iPad 3 with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB options.
The WiFi only, 16 GB version of the iPad Mini is to cost Rs 21,900, while its 32 GB is priced at Rs 27,900 and the 64 GB is for Rs 35,900. For 3G + WiFi models, price starts at Rs 35,900 for 32 GB, while 64 GB to cost Rs 41,900.
The iPad Mini also features a 5 megapixel rear camera at the back, a front camera with 1.2 megapixel resolution, new lightning connector and a 16.3 watt hour battery pack that promises up to 10 hours of backup time.
Fourth Generation iPad, on the other hand, is of the same size as the regular iPad but brings in few changes like the new lightning connector, retina display and faster new Apple A6X System-on-Chip mobile processor and a quad-core graphics chip.
Prices for the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB WiFi only models of the tablet are Rs 31,900, Rs 37,900 and Rs 43,900 respectively while for its 3G + WiFi version, prices are Rs 39,900, Rs 45,900 and Rs 51,900 for 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage versions.
