New Delhi, Jan 9: Huawei has finally announced its much anticipated 6.1 inch display bearing Ascend Mate phablet at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013. Along with the Android based phablet, the Chinese handset manufacture has also launched the Ascend D2, which is said to be the fastest quad core processor based Android smartphone.
The 6.1 inch Huawei Ascend Mate comprises of an HD 720p display and a speedy hardware to give a tough time to competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the LG Optimus Vu currently selling in the market. The Huawei Mate features a quad core processor running at 1.5 GHz. Along with that the device is powered by Android Jelly Bean and has Huawei's Emotion user interface.
Huawei Ascend Mate features the thinnest bezel among smartphones with 73 per cent of the front being covered by the display alone. The Ascend Mate features an 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording capability and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. For faster performance, the smartphone has 2 GB RAM as well. The Huawei Ascend Mate features a massive 4050 mAh battery.
The Ascend D2 smartphone is a dust and water resistant smartphone and features a 5 inch touchscreen display with full 1080p HD resolution. Huawei has added its very own mobile processor which comes with four cores and clock speed of 1.5 GHz.
The Ascend D2 has a 13 megapixel camera at the back that can click high quality images and also full 1080p HD quality videos. It also features a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and is powered by a 3000 mAh battery. The Ascend D2 comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running by default but misses out on the SD card slot.
The Ascend D2 will be launching in China this week when its price is expected to be revealed. The Ascend Mate however will be launching in the month of February with an expected price tag of $480 or Rs 27,000 onwards.
