Chinese handset maker Huawei has confirmed that its flagship smartphone Honor 6 Plus will be launched in India next week.

Honor 6 Plus will go on sale exclusively through Flipkart on March 24, but the company has not revealed the pricing of the smartphone. In china, Huawei's new phone which is already on sale, costs CNY ¥1999 (or Rs 20,050). Accordingly, the launch price in India should not exceed that amount.

The highlight of Honor 6 Plus is that it comes with a dual-8.0-mp camera having bionic parallel dual lens, which enables the phone to capture SLR (Single Lens Reflex) quality pictures with up to 4160×3120p resolution.

For clicking selfies, it also offers an 8mp snapper on the front and to further enhance the photography experience, the company has pre-loaded camera apps in the phone.

Honor 6 Plus offers a 5.5-inch 1080p touch screen, and is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 925 chipset, which comes with an octa-core CPU that has four Cortex-A15 cores and four Cortex-A7 ones. The phone has 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and microSD card support. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat underneath Huawei's Emotion UI 3.0.

The device gets its juice from a 3600mAh battery. We should also see an update to Lollipop down the road. The handset supports 4G LTE Cat.6 which means the handset supports download speeds as fast as 300Mbps. There is also an IR Blaster so the phone can double as a remote control. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus will be offered in Black, White and Gold.

The phone competes against the likes of OnePlus One, Xiaomi Mi4, Lenovo Vibe X2, Samsung Galaxy S5 and others.
