Google announces Nexus 4, Nexus 10, new Nexus 7, running Android v4.2

New Delhi, Oct 30: Google has expanded its Nexus range of smartphones and tablets by introducing two new Nexus 7 models, the Nexus 10 tablet made by Samsung, and the long-rumored Nexus 4 phone made by LG, thus bringing the total number of Nexus devices on the market to three. Nexus devices are built in association between Google and other phone or tablet makers.Google has unveiled Nexus 10, made in partnership with consumer electronics company Samsung Electronics Co, the first 10-inch tablet to come to market under Google's Nexus brand. Google also increased the storage capacity of its Nexus 7 tablet on the $199 version of the device to 16GB from 8GB, and introduced a new $299 version of the Nexus 7 with a cellular data service option. Besides the search engine giant also announced the Nexus 4 smartphone, developed in association with LG.Google was scheduled to introduce the new range at a media event in New York on Monday, but was forced to cancel because of Hurricane Sandy.With these products, the company is aiming to compete against some established and some recent entrants into the portable tablet space.Let's take a look at some of the introductions: Nexus 10According to Google, the Nexus 10 gives the highest-resolution screen in the tablet marketplace at 300 pixels per square inch (a 10" display with pixel dimensions of 2560x1600 (300 ppi) as opposed to 2048x1536 with 264 ppi). The tablet is powered by new 1.7 GHz A15 dual-core processor and will run Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), which offers multi-user account logins. The Wi-Fi only version comes in 16 GB and 32 GB variants. The tablet goes on sale on November 13 at Google Play stores in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the US.Nexus 7This mid-sized tablet, developed in association with Google and ASUS, now comes in new Wi-Fi models that are 16GB (for $199 -- Rs 11,000) and 32GB (for $249 – Rs 13,500). Google is also coming up with version available with an HSPA+ cellular connection -- $32GB for $299 (Rs 16,200). It goes on sale from November 13.Nexus 4The new Nexus 4 phone is developed by LG. It will replace the Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone that came out about a year ago. The phone is powered by a quad-core processor, and has a large 4.7-inch screen with a high-resolution 1280 x 768 display. It runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and a feature called Photo Sphere for creating 360-degree panoramas. It now has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video chatting.
