New Delhi, Jul 7: Targeting the Bollywood and television industries, Japanese major Canon today unveiled a range of video cameras in India.
In a statement, the company announced its entry into the cinematography business, in a move to further expand Canon's penetration in India market.
The company announced the launch of three cinema EOS advanced range cameras, including the EOS C300, EOS C500 and EOS 1-DC, along with eleven new cinema EOS lenses, it added.
With these new products, the company will target the Bollywood and the broadcast segment, it said.
Commenting on the new products, Canon Inc Managing Director, CEO and Global Head (Imaging Communication Products) Masaya Maeda said: "Canon sees India as a critical market for its overall growth and is focused on deepening our relationship while staying committed to realising the untapped potential in the market."
Besides, the company also introduced Canon Professional Services, which will provide membership to select media houses in Mumbai and Delhi.
"It is a unique service proposition to busy pro- photographers for whom any down time is a critical loss. At the start, we are issuing CPS enrollment to seven media houses for their Delhi and Mumbai photo bureaus" Canon India Senior Vice President Alok Bharadwaj said.
