New Delhi: Yahoo has just bought Aviate, a startup that automatically organizes the apps on your home screen. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Yahoo chief executive officer Marissa Mayer announced the deal at the 2014 International CES trade show in Las Vegas, saying Aviate will help provide "contextual clues bringing you what you need when you need it."

Launched last year, Aviate tracks your usage patterns and groups apps into categories that are presented to you based on the time of day and your location. For instance, it will show show you your calendar appointments and news apps in the morning "space." If you're near a restaurant, it shows you reviews and surfaces dining apps.

"Like Yahoo, Aviate is focused on daily habits," Mayer said at the conference.

Mayer did not elaborate on possible Yahoo services integration. Aviate is still in beta, but the first 25,000 people to use the invite code "YAHOO" can start using it today.
