New Delhi: Xolo has listed a new budget smartphone, the A550s IPS, on its site at Rs 5,799. The company has not revealed when it will be officially available.
The handset appears to be a stripped-down version of Q500s IPS which was launched at Rs 5,999.
It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs the now-dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. The device offers a 4-inch (480x800 pixels) WVGA IPS display with a pixel density of 233ppi.
The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6572M) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and Mali 400 GPU. The device offers 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The device comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
Some interesting camera features include scene detection, face recognition, Panorama, geo tagging, Best shot, Smile shot, and HDR options.
Connectivity options include 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The device gets its juice from a 1400mAh battery, which according to the official listing is rated to deliver up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 630 hours of standby time on 2G network. The Xolo A550s IPS measures 125x63.9x9.1mm and is available in Black colour on Flipkart.
