New Delhi: Xiaomi, often called the 'Apple' of China, is all set to launch its popular handset, the Xiaomi Mi3, in India on July 15 at Rs 14,999. The phone will be up for pre-booking on the company's website starting July 15. It is also likely that the handset maker will launch the Redmi 1S and Redmi Note along with Mi3.
The Mi3 comes with a 5-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 13 megapixel rear camera with a dual-LED flash, and an internal storage space of 16GB. It will be available in Mettalic Grey. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera featuring a f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED flash while the front houses a 2-megapixel camera. It is backed by a 3050mAh battery. The Mi 3 measures 144x73.6x8.1mm and weighs 145 grams. It will be available in Metallic Grey colour. According to the company's website, it has already sold over 17 million handsets in China.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note offers a 5.5-inch IPS screen of just 720p resolution and is powered by an octa core 1.7GHz MediaTek processor. The device runs Jelly Bean 4.3 dressed with a layer of Xiaomi's very own MIUI software. Other key specs include 1.7GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, 32GB expandability, 5MP and 3MP cameras as well as a 3100mAh power house.
The Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes with a 4.7-inch 720p IPS touchscreen. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad core SoC clocked at 1.6GHz here, and the same Android 4.3 with MIUI on top. Key specs include 1GB RAM, 64GB microSD card support, 16GB ROM, an 8MP main camera, a 1.6MP webcam and a 2000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note and Redmi 1S cost 199 and 169 Singaporean dollars, whcih means they will cost around Rs 10000 and Rs 8000 respecitvley in India.
Earlier this month, the company had also roped in Jabong co-founder Manu Kumar Jain to head its operations in India.
