The new Fonepad's display is bright and vivid, which makes it food for outdoor use. Asus has used an IPS panel for the Fonepad's display that facilitates wider viewing angles. The Asus Fonepad 7 sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera, which can click images up to 2592x1944 pixels resolution. According to the company, the tablet's primary camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
The Asus Fonepad 7 tablet runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with customised UI, by skinning elements such as the notification tray, default Android onscreen navigation buttons, and additional apps, widgets and features. The Asus Fonepad 7 offers five customisable homescreens that can be populated with apps and widgets. The Fonepad 7 is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading (implying four threads), and a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. It offers 1GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB with the help of microSD card.
