The name “S Band” may sound familiar to you as the company initially unveiled the product as an accessory for the galaxy S4, but it never made it to the market. In fact, none of Samsung's fitness and health accessories did. The reasoning behind it could be a lack of consumer interest, new products in the pipeline, or that they simply weren't very good. But now an updated version of the S Band is back, and it looks quite different from the version Samsung debuted a year ago.
A close look at the promotion slides show that the upcoming device looks a lot like the Gear Fit, the South Korean company's fitness band that was unveiled at the MWC along with the new smartphone in February. This upcoming Band does not have a display, but it comes with sensors which are capable of tracking a user's activities The S Band will integrate with the S Health app on the Galaxy S5, tracking your sleep, calories burned, and distance travelled. So, basically like every other fitness tracker already on the market.
