New Delhi: Samsung is reportedly planning to present its upcoming 2014 flagship, the Galaxy S5, with a head motion tracker. This was revealed by a European Patent Office filing. A rumour claims that the South Korean handset maker will be holding a global event in London scheduled around mid-March.

The patent describes the ability to wink or nod your head to control specific functions of the S5. Reports suggest that moving your head to the left will let you go back a browser page, or go to the next one with a head movement to the right.

To accomplish head tracking detection, the new phone will split the image received by the front-facing camera into specific sections. The camera would track the change in a particular section as a head movement gesture, leading the smartphone do specific functions.

Rumours suggest that the device will come in two versions: a premium variant sporting a metal chassis and the usual flexible OLED having the plastic body.

Other specifications doing the rounds are a 64-bit Exynos chipset or a new Snapdragon chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 4000mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top.
