New Delhi: Homegrown handset maker Lava has launched its first phone in the Iris Pro series. Designed in-house, Lava Iris Pro 30 is a premium-looking phone that provides solid features in an attractive package, all for a great price.

Design and build

With Iris Pro 30, Lava has taken a giant leap in terms of offering the best in class looks and build for a smartphone in the mid-range category. The chassis of the phone is being built using magnesium alloy, which results in rigid and light frame. The phone weighs only 114g and measures 7.91mm x 66.88mm x 137.97mm, making it lightest and slimmest in this price. On the back you'll find matte finish with greyish texture, which makes it firm to hold. The rear cover is made of plastic and is removable. . Underneath the rear cover, there is a micro-SIM and a full SIM slot and a microSD card tray as well. On the rear, a 8MP camera and dual LED flash sit flush with the panel instead of protruding out. While the power button and volume rockers are on the right, 3.5mm audio jack is on the top and micro USB port is located at the bottom along with the mic.

On the front, there is an ambient light sensor and a notification LED. For charging status you get an orange LED and a blue LED for alerts. Right below the display there are three capacitive buttons that have a soft white backlight which is visible in the dark.
