New Delhi: So, you've finally got an interview call. At first, it seems to be exciting as this is the offer that you've been eyeing now for months. You think, Wow, this is finally it! And then comes the anxiety and the nervousness. It is largely because during the entire selection process you can't tell with exact precision whether the whole process is going in your favour or not. However, if you observe closely then you'll find some vital clues to tell when an employer is little turned off. Learning to pick up these signs can give you a good opportunity to do something different. Here are 10 signs that indicate you rocked your interview:1. Your interview lasts only 10-15 minutesThough there is no standard rule, a typical interview should last around 30 minutes. If everything goes well then both the interviewer and perspective employee may find it difficult to keep track of time. However, experts warn that an interviewer continuously looking at their watch throughout the selection process is a sign that they are bored or not too interested in what you are saying.2. You're talking more than the interviewer isAccording to John M. McKee, founder and CEO of Business Success, job seekers shouldn't dominate more than 40 per cent of the conversation. McKee says since many job seekers are anxious to show that they are the best candidate for a job, they often dominate the conversation with things like never-ending answers.3. The interviewer is easily distractedIf a recruiter or an employer is genuinely interested in hiring you, he'd be eager to know more about you. This means they should turn their focus on you, by turning off the mobile phones or closing the door. If they're easily distracted or go in and out of the interview room quite often, you might want to continue your job application somewhere else.4. It feels like an interrogationA good interview should be like exchanging views from both ends. If shouldn't give you the feeling that you're in the hot seat. It shouldn't be a one-sided conversation and must have back and forth dialogue. 5. They don't smileFrom an employer's perspective, establishing and maintaining a rapport during the entire process is crucial. An employer should exude some happiness by meeting you and interviewing you, and the smiling is the best indication. However, if you get any single hint that the interviewer is not happy to meet you then clearly you haven't made a positive impression on them. Though it should be disheartening to go through such an interview, it shouldn't let you stop smiling at them. This will make you look interesting, pleasant, and more open minded about the whole interview process. 6. The interviewer is less enthusiastic with your accomplishmentsAccording to Darrel W. Gurney, career coach and author of "Never Apply for a Job Again!: Break the Rules, Cut the Line, Beat the Rest," if you hear cricket sounds after sharing stories of your amazing accomplishments is a strong indication that the interviewer is just not into you.7. “We have a lot of interviews this week" If you hear it at the end of the interview process then it s a good indication that the employer is still looking for the best candidate, which means they aren't sure that if you fit in the bill or not. If you hear this that "we'll let you know next week (next month, etc.)" then it means trouble. And most likely if they are interested in your skills and ability, they'd lock you in for another round of interview. This is a common phrase used by lots of employers as they want to soften the blow of telling you that they don't you to be in this position. 8. You took so much of time complaining about your last bossExperts caution job seekers against this strong negative during the interview. There should be no negative talks about a former co-worker or former boss. Remember, it is a small world and you don't know who knows who.9. The employer doesn't keep his or her wordExperts again warn against employers who tell you one thing but do otherwise. 10. You are asked about your activities off the job.Answer such questions with care. It is good not to divulge information like partying behavior for instance.
