New Delhi: Do you remember Tony Stark's uber-smart computer assistant that plays a huge part in building and maintaining the Iron Man suits? It was called Just A Rather Very Intelligent System or J.A.R.V.I.S. Now, thanks to chip maker Intel we can soon have a Jarvis of our own. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Last Vegas, Intel unveiled Jarvis, an oddly shaped Bluetooth headset that wraps around the back of its wearer's ear. The earpiece communicates constantly with a companion Android app to remotely control the smartphone.
Jarvis, which can understand voice commands and aptly supported by the Android app, performs all the functions you'd expect from a digital assistant – give directions, set appointments/reminders and look for restaurants among other things.
Since Jarvis is only a reference design for now, so it would depend on Intel's manufacturing partners to turn it into an actual product.
Earlier at CES, Intel announced the “Edison,” the next-generation of Quark, along with a ton of wearable prototypes—including, the obligatory smartwatch.
The device is part of what Intel's chief executive Brian Krzanich called the company's push to “make everything smart”.
Other reference designs showed by Intel include a pair of smart earbuds that can track a wearer's run and a bowl that can wirelessly charge gadgets placed in it.
