New Delhi: Gionee's latest smartphone, Elife S5.5, has been dubbed as the world's slimmest smartphone, with just 5.55-mm thickness. Now reports suggest that the device will be launched in Indian in March 2014.
Besides having a 5.55-mm waistline, the S5.5 is equipped with a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED plus screen, a true Octa-core 1.7GHz processor, a 13 megapixel rear camera and the world's first 95 degree ultra-wide angle 5 megapixel front camera. The 95 degree wide angle front camera makes self-group shots or full body selfies easy.
The device comes with a 2,300 mAh battery that should go a full day with 3G on.
And just like all other Gionee phones, the phone runs on company's Amigo OS, a heavily skinned version of Android. The company hasn't mentioned which version of the OS it will employ though. The smartphone supports 3G network working in six different bands and the company also plans to churn out an LTE version of the device by June.
The Elife S5.5 will be available in China at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs 23,500) within a few weeks. The company is set to launch the device in 40 other countries in the second quarter.
