New Delhi: Online retailer FlipKart has formally entered the tablet space by launching its first Android-based device, the Digiflip Pro XT712, for Rs 9,999 in India. The tablet has been launched with shopping benefits of over Rs 5,000 and free eBooks worth Rs 2,000.
In order to give speedy service, the company has set up a network of 120 service centres in over 100 cities in the country. Customers in 13 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai can avail FlipKart's 24 hour service in their 22 priority centres.
The tablet comes with a 7-inch HD IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor (MediaTek ARM Cortex A7 quad-core chipset) with Mali 400 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Dual SIM support, 3G connectivity and voice calling capabilities.
Other frills include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. It runs on a lightly modified version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and also offers access to the Google Play Store.
The device comes with a 3,000-mAh battery.
It comes with Flipkart shopping and Flipkart eBook apps. The online retailer is also giving benefits such as flat 50 per cent off on Book Case worth Rs 799 for the tablet and a free Plantronics ML2 Bluetooth Headset worth Rs 1,199. It also offers try and buy program that enables you to try the tablet and return it within 30 days.
