New Delhi: After tasting massive success in online retailing, e-commerce giant Flipkart is now keen to gets its hands on own branded smartphones, which would be exclusively sold on their ecommerce portal.
The move seems interesting as this would be for the first time that an ecommerce portal, without any physical retail outlet, is going to launch its own branded devices.
Reports suggest that the online retailer was in talks with three chipset vendors namely: Intel, MediaTek and Qualcomm, and now it has finalized one of them. The company is soon expected to release specifications and features of their new branded smartphones.
Flipkart, a late entrant in the market, will benefit from its vast user database and strong connect with consumers as it will give the e-commerce player the requisite advantage of offering users smartphones as per their needs. Moreover, their own supply chain and in-house logistics would also work in the favour of the company.
