New Delhi, May 10: BlackBerry's Q10, the company's first next-generation smartphone, running the new BlackBerry 10 operating system, is finally up for pre-orders in India. However, it is not official as of now.
Online retailer Snapdeal is taking orders for the phone at a token amount of Rs 1000. However, it is still not clear what is the end price of the device. Snapdeal also says the release date will be in the "fourth week of May".
The BlackBerry Q10 is the second smartphone from the company to sport its latest BlackBerry 10 OS, after the full-touchscreen Z10. Its main defining feature is the physical QWERTY keyboard, something many BlackBerry fans still look for in a smartphone. The device sports premium chassis materials and specs such as a high-resolution screen and LTE connectivity. There is an 8-megapixel rear camera on-board and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G and NFC. BlackBerry Q10 also packs in 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 2100mAh battery.
The Q10 is available now in the U.K. and Canada. The U.S. launch is slated for late May, starting with T-Mobile USA.
The phone is likely to cost between Rs 28,000 to Rs 30,000.
