New Delhi: Bajaj Auto will soon launch its fully-faired 200cc Pulsar in the Indian market. As speculated before the bike will not be called 200SS, rather a teaser image suggests it will be called as Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.
The teaser image also says it is the ‘fastest Pulsar yet'. For some time now, leaked images of the the production-ready version of the motorcycle have surfaced online.
However, the motorcycle may remain the 'fastest Pulsar' only for a short period of time as the company is planning to launch more powerful CS 400 and SS 400 bikes under Pulsar brand.
The RS 200 will come with the same 199.5cc triple spark plug engine which makes 23.5PS/18.3Nm in the 200NS. However, the ‘fastest Pulsar' tag may be coming out of the fact that the added aerodynamics will give the bike a higher top speed. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
According to Bajaj's internal test claims, the bike is expected to return close to 58kmpl fuel efficiency.
The bike features twin projector headlamps with LED DRLs like in the KTM RC series, LED tail lamps as well as a side slung exhaust. The Pulsar RS 200 may come at a premium of about Rs 25,000 over the 200NS. The launch will most probably happen next month. It may cost around Rs 1.1 lakh and will compete against the likes of Yamaha R15 and KTM RC200.
