New Delhi: In a desperate big to poach Samsung buyers, Apple has unveiled a low cost handset called the iPhone 5C as well as a high-end model called iPhone 5S. The launch makes a step away from Apple's luxe image. This year it was for the first time that Apple had released two new handsets at the same event.
Apple also announced that the company would be discontinuing the current iPhone 5 model.
The lower-cost model, the iPhone 5C (the C for color) comes in a plastic case and has the same features as the now-discontinued iPhone 5. The iPhone 5C has a 4-inch Retina display, 8 megapixel back facing camera and A6 processor, and with a slightly bigger battery than the 5.
Apple is offering the 5C in five different colours. You can buy covers in other colours that clip on top of the unit. You can even change the screen backgrounds to match the cover, just like the Lumia range.
