Ludhiana, Oct 20: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh has invited strike-hit Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) to set up a plant in Punjab.

Criticising the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for “failing” to take initiative in the matter, he said Punjab could offer a good environment to the MSI.

“Badal has no such futuristic vision as he remains busy and preoccupied with his sangat darshan programmes so we don't expect him to do that,” he said.

“They (MSI) are welcome to Punjab as it offers the best environment. Besides, we have a lot of ancillary units here which could be of immense support to the MSI”, he said.
