New Delhi: Alcatel has launched its selfie-focused budget smartphone, the Alcatel One Touch Flash, at Rs. 9,999. It will be available via company's online e-commerce partner Flipkart from Friday.
Alcatel One Touch Flash comes with a features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by an octa-core 1.4GHz MediaTek MTK6592M processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box.
The handset features a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera.
Inbuilt storage includes 8GB which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The smartphone was launched in Thailand in September as Alcatel One Touch Flash (6042D).
Connectivity options on the Alcatel One Touch Flash include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS and 3G. The battery on the device is 3200mAh. The smartphone weighs 150 grams and will be available in two colour options - Crystal White, and Gun Grey.
Alcatel has also announced a 'Selfie Contest' in which the top 20 contestants everyday can win Rs. 1,000 off on the purchase price. The grand prize winner will get the ultimate selfie prize - a full photo-shoot makeover that will be featured in one of the most recognized lifestyle magazines, says the company.
