Hyderabad: Agriculture experts, industry representatives and policy makers from different countries would converge here for an international conference on agriculture beginning tomorrow.

The three-day World Agricultural Forum Congress 2013 and agri-tech trade fair would see the delegates deliberating on various issues related to agriculture and allied sectors.

The theme of the event is ‘Re-shaping Agriculture for Sustainable Future: Focus on Small and Marginal Farmers'.

The event is being organised by World Agriculture Forum (WAF), which works towards bringing together leaders from private sector and policy makers to focus on providing food, fuel, fibre and water to the world's growing population, officials said.

State Agriculture Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana said here today that the state government, which has adopted farmer-friendly policies, hopes that the deliberations and suggestions of the conference would benefit farmers, particularly small and marginal farmers who are in majority.

The Acharya N G Ranga Agriculture University here would publish the deliberations and recommendations in Telugu and English and send it to various stakeholders, he said.

Representatives from reputed agriculture-related organisations like FAO, CRIDA, ICRISAT are also expected to attend the meet.

The state government is organising agri-tech trade fair in which agro industries, national agriculture research bodies, agriculture universities, public and private sector would put up stalls.

The agri-tech trade fair would give out information on issues like farm mechanisation, technology and solar power to farmers from the state.
