New Delhi: Government of India has initiated a giant leap towards transforming the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy.
During the E-tech India Summit 2015, government officials and IT industry experts echoed that with right encryption, cloud computing will be the next step in digitally integrating the nation.
The Summit, organized by ET Edge, an Economic Times initiative, explored new trends and innovations that are transforming strategic priorities and enabling superior e-Governance programs that add value to the citizen.
Tapan Ray, Additional Secretary IT, Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DEITY), said, "e-Governance is certainly progressing, but integration, processes and standards are three things that have to be worked on."
Digital India has to result in financial inclusion of the poorest sections of Indian society if it is to be considered a success.
"If we have to achieve what we have set out for ourselves, it is these rural workers that need to be helped the most. We are looking for solutions that delivers money to the poor and improves their livelihood," Amarjeet Sinha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, said.
E-tech India Summit also discussed that across the 9 pillars of Digital India we need some horizontal layers that brings about standardization and ease of execution.
