The iPhone 5s' A7 processor is supported by a new M7 motion coprocessor that takes care of measuring motion data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass sensors of the phone, and sending them to new fitness apps without waking up the A7 processor. It enhances the smartphone's battery life. It also recognises different types of motion.
