Check out the list of see where some of the top head-honchos in our country live: 10) Rana KapoorYES Bank CEOThe family of YES Bank CEO and managing director Rana Kapoor recently bought a residential building - jointly owned by Citibank and GlaxoSmithKline - on tony Altamount Road in Mumbai for Rs 128 crore, and has plans to build a home there. The Altamount Road is an upmarket residential locality in South Mumbai that is also home to many famous high net worth individuals (HNIs). The building is next to Mukesh Ambani's 27-storey Antilla. The building, built on a third of an acre plot, stands in the middle of a posh neighbourhood that boasts of homes of some of India's richest businessmen - Ambani and Kumar Mangalam Birla - as well as of Washington House sold recently by the US Embassy to Lodha Developers. The ground plus two-storey structure on Altamount Road currently has a total built-up area of 14,800 sq ft that includes a basement.9) Vikram Chatwal's Manhattan Bachelor PadVikram Chatwal, a well-known hotelier, who was also referred to as “larger than life” by the Wall Street Journal, has a cool home at Manhattan, New York. The hotelier bought the place for $6 million in 2010 and poured another $2 million into furnishing it, drawing upon the talents of Hilary Swank's decorator Mark Zeff to imbue a modern, white Gwathmey Siegel-designed box with a "turn-of-the-century feel." The property is located in Delhi's leafy Lutyens Bungalow Zone where home prices have risen 8-folds in the past decade on the back of rising demand for the area where homes are always in short supply. The zone also houses bungalows of other famous industrialists like Sunil Mittal, KP Singh, Naveen Jindal, and LN Mittal. 7) Vijay Mallya's White House in the skyUB GroupFlamboyant business tycoon Vijay Mallya, the chairman of UB Group, is reportedly getting a new address at Kingfisher Towers-Residences at UB City in Bangalore. The new home of Mallya, along with other billionaires is under way and will be completed in the next three years. The tower, which can be aptly called ‘adobe of millionaires,' is situated in the heart of Bangalore city, and has around 82 apartments split in three blocks, of which only 72 are for sale. Of the saleable units, 30 are Mallya's and the rest are with Prestige. The remaining 10 unsold units are to be spilt among members of Mallya's family. Also, a helipad will be seen on the roof of the penthouse.6) John Nash mansion for Hinduja brothersHinduja GroupThe four Hinduja brothers, who are known for avoiding the limelight, have spent nearly £100 million on a palatial property located near Queen Elizabeth's iconic Buckingham Palace. Acquired in a dilapidated condition from the British monarch in 2006, the Hindujas have reportedly spent heavily to restore the nineteenth-century John Nash mansion. Sprawling over 70,000 square feet, the palace was custom-built by King George IV in the 1820s. Divided into four distinct apartments (one for each brother,) the six-story palace is reported to be the U.K.'s largest Grade One-listed historic abode. It is also estimated to feature among the costliest homes of the world. The mansion with an impressive façade is a combination of four listed properties. In total it has six floors and fifty large and spacious rooms that are divided into four self contained integrated apartments. The palatial abode is divided into four spacious segments with one meant for Srichand, the second for Gopichand based in London, Prakash based in Geneva and Ashok from Mumbai. The mansion also has a swimming pool and a cinema hall. The mammoth mansion has been designed by John Nash and is typically English in terms of its architecture with a dash of Indian art. Mittal also has another property nearby on Palace Green in Kensington which he bought for 117 million pounds in 2008. At that time it was declared the most expensive home in Britain. The 12-bedroom palatial home was bought for Mittal's son, Aditya, from Israeli-American financier Noam Gottesman. The home, called Antilia, sits on Mumbai's tony Altamount Road and cost an estimated $1 billion to build. Antilia is a 400,000 square foot residential building which is 27 stories high, but since some ceilings are double-height, it's closer to the size of a 40-story building. Antilia has a multi-story garage with space for 168 cars, a health spa, multiple swimming pools, a yoga studio, nine elevators in the lobby, a floor with vehicle maintenance facility, three helipads, ballroom, a 50-seater movie theatre and lush green hanging gardens. Inside, two design motifs—the sun and the lotus—are repeated throughout the mansion in rare materials like crystal, marble, and mother-of-pearl.
