New Delhi: For most of us working at Facebook is a dream as the social networking giant has been regarded as one of the best places to work in the tech industry. But not all are happy campers – as some have given bizarre answers to a question posted by question-and-answer website Quora.
Quora created, edited and organized by its community of users, had asked a question 'worst thing about working at Facebook' to which the social media giant's employees gave varied and interesting answers.
Let us take a look at some of them:
"For six weeks out of the year, I'm on 24/7 on-call duty."
According to one employee the worst thing about working at Facebook has been oncall duty. A lot of teams working on different projects have a rotating responsibility for responding to unanticipated emergencies. Since these can happen any time, day or night, and are of unknowable scope and severity, being oncall is a serious responsibility since millions of users are affected every minute the site is broken.
"For those weeks I don't leave town on the weekend; make especially sure not to have 'one too many' at any social gatherings I attend; and most importantly, carry and immediately respond to a charged phone where I can be reached 24/7, including leaving the ringer on on the nightstand as I sleep." - Keith Adams, Facebook engineer.
