New Delhi: The sixth edition Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s ‘Mi Fan Festival’ has begun in India. During the 14-hour long festival, which started at 8am, the company will sell a number of accessories at discount prices including recently launched smartphone Mi 5.   

According to the company, buyers can avail a variety of offers by visiting its official website Mi.com between 8 am to 10 pm today. The company is celebrating a-day long ‘Mi Fan Festival’ to commemorate its sixth anniversary.

The recently launched Mi 5 smartphone, which carries a price tag of Rs 24,999 for 32GB variant, will be up for flash sales at 11 am, 2pm and 5pm. According to the company, only the white variant of the device will be available and buyers need to login using their Mi account to purchase the smartphone.

The Mi Protect insurance plan for the company’s flagship smartphone will also be available at Rs 499 against the regular pricing is of Rs 699. The Mi Protect insurance plan has services like accidental liquid damage, doorstep pickup-drop service, SIM card blocking, Docusafe and more.

The Redmi Note 3 smartphone too will be up for flash sale during the festival timing. The 16GB and 32GB variants will be available at Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999, respectively. The company is also offering Rs 50 discount on a protective case for the Redmi Note 3.

The other products that will be put up for sale include: Xiaomi’s 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank, Redmi 2 Prime 16GB, Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro, LED Light Enhanced, Mi USB Cable (120cm) etc.

Xiaomi, headquartered in Beijing, is the world's 5th largest smartphone maker company. Last year, it had sold 70.8 million units and was countable for almost 5 per cent of the smartphone global market share. The company sold over 60 million smartphones in 2014.
