New Delhi: Xiaomi has announced a new variant of the Redmi 3 called the Redmi 3s in China today. The smartphone will be available in two variants — 16GB variant with 2GB of RAM priced at 699 Yuan (Rs 7,000 approx.), and the 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM priced at 899 Yuan (Rs 9,000 approx.).
The Redmi 3s comes with a full metal magnesium alloy unibody design and is 8.5mm thick. The smartphone will be available in dark grey, silver and gold colors, and will be going on sale from June 16. Also the global launch date has not yet being revealed.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3s is just like the Redmi Note 3 with also with a fingerprint scanner placed at the back below the primary camera.
Xiaomi Redmi 3s features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset coupled with a 2GB of RAM. The Redmi 3s runs MIUI 7 based on Android OS.In terms of photography the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Both the front and the back cameras come with 1080p video recording capabilities.
The Redmi 3s comes with a 4,000mAh battery and a 4,100mAh battery for the 16GB and the 32GB variants respectively. It also has a hybrid SIM slot that lets you use the secondary nano SIM slot as a microSD slot as and when required. In terms of connectivity the smartphone includes 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.
