Wipro to set up BPO centre in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: India's major software services firm Wipro will set up a BPO centre here, which will be the second such facility after an all-women technology services centre of Tata Consultancy Services.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday visited the TCS centre, first such facility to have only women employees. The Prime Minister was accorded a very warm welcome at the centre by the employees belonging to 17 countries of the region.

"Wipro is following suit. It is establishing a major BPO centre here," Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Amar Sinha told reporters here.

It is not known whether Wipro will have an all-women centre.

Wipro Limited is a global company provider of comprehensive IT solutions and services, including Systems Integration, Consulting, Information Systems outsourcing, IT-enabled services, R&D services, re-seller of desktops, servers, notebooks, storage products, networking solutions and packaged software for international brands.

Wipro entered into the technology business in 1981 and has over 140,000 employees and clients across 54 countries.[51] IT revenues were at $7.1 billion for the year ended 31 March 2015, with a repeat business ratio of over 95%.
