New Delhi: If there is one name that has enabled people to stay connected across the world in today’s time, it is WhatsApp. In a short span of time, this Facebook-owned instant messaging mobile application has set many benchmarks, owing to its wide popularity and simpler accessibility.
Now, in a survey by digital market intelligence company SimilarWeb, WhatApp has emerged as the most used mobile messaging app, beating peers by a huge margin.
The survey that covered around 187 countries concluded that WhatsApp is used in around 109 nations which accounts for over half of the world.

The research also found out that the app is installed on 94.8 per cent of all Android devices and is used for an average of 37 minutes per day.
Second in this list was Facebook's Messenger. It claimed 49 countries which included Australia, Canada and the US.
Other than these two, the only messaging app that is doing well in the market is Viber, with its usage in up to 10 countries.
Line, WeChat, Telegram, BBM etc are the few other apps to have decent number of users around the globe.
