South Korean tech giant Samsung has urged all Galaxy Note7 smartphone users to power the devices down and stop using them while it investigates reports of fires in the devices.
“Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device,” the company said in statement.
The company has also asked owners of the smartphone to seek a refund or exchange for a different device.
“Those who have the device should seek a refund or exchange for a different smartphone,” the statement added.
The world’s top smartphone maker has already asked all global carriers to stop sales of the Note7s and its production as well.
This is the second time in two months the Note7 has been pulled off shelves. It had already recalled 25 lakh Note7s due to faulty batteries.
The premium device launched in August was supposed to compete with Apple Inc's latest iPhone for supremacy in the smartphone market.
